I suffer from sleep paralysis sometimes. I had it got it a lot as a child and mostly grew out of it, but sometimes it pops up again.
For those who don't know: Normally when you go to sleep your brain shuts down your body (for the most part) this is normal. People who's bodies don't shut down during sleep suffer from sleep walking/talking. Sometimes the opposite of that happens, where the body is shut down while the mind is still awake. Usually this happens just as you are about to fall asleep or just as you're waking up. Episodes of sleep paralysis can be accompanied by auditory or visual hallucinations that are a little like mini-dreams. These hallucinations can be terrifying, and my last one was.
I was laying in bed and there was a shadow outside my window. It was trying to seep in around the edges of the window plane, and something bad was going to happen to me if it got in. I knew what was going on, but that didn't stop the choking horror at this thing.
I did eventually snap out of it, but damn I hate when that happens.
